~thrifted book haul

I AM CHAMPION. For years, I’ve been waiting to find a copy of Perks at the thrift store. I knew one day it would happen and it FINALLY DID. (I refuse to buy brand new copies of books that I’ve already read, that’s why I don’t own it) So I guess I’ll reread this before the movie comes out (if it ever comes out) since I originally read it freshman year and cannot for the life of me remember what happens in it.

I also got Stargirl, one of my favorites, and I thought I’d give Sarah Dessen another chance with this book, since Karissa said it was her best one. After finishing it last night, she was right. It was surprisingly decent! Which is about as good as it gets when it comes to Dessen books, tbh.

I got this nifty leather satchel the other day for $3! It’s so pwettttty.

oh, tumblr! I forgot to tell you! i had some major thrift store success today. found percy jackson books 2 & 4, which means i have collected the whole series from various thrift stores for just $4. (not including book 5, which i bought new in hardback) 

and i also found the golden compass which i’m quite excited about.

found these sunglasses at the thrift store for $2. I felt awesome.

I bought this owl today for $1.00. Then I stacked a few of my favorite books under it for good measure. I felt like a champ.

These will make for some light, cheesy-romance-teenager-crap reading, which is perfect for the kind of mood I’m in. So ~yay.

I found this gorgeous dream journal at the thrift store yesterday.

It’s double-sided, with one side being for “day dreams” and the other for “night dreams.” The cover art is absolutely AMAZING. These photos don’t do the artwork justice at all, especially the night side.  It’s like straight out of a fairy tale. The inside covers have a quote on each side, and the edges are gold-trimmed. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I’m so happy I found it!

I’ve already read The Lovely Bones. It’s a well-written story, although not one that really captured my interest. I probably won’t reread it anytime soon, but it’s just one of those books you need to have in your collection, ya know? Besides, for $0.50, why not! The other two I’ve never heard of, but I’m excited to give them a try, so we’ll see how that goes.
